It feels like we have been waiting an eternity for indie slasher Time’s Up.
The crowdfunding campaign promised a slasher set around New Year that would satisfy the needs of the old-school slasher fan. What becomes clear quite quickly is, this isn’t what we were sold.
Time’s Up becomes quite laborious, with its loose plot coming apart at the seams quickly.
It has a fantastic-looking villain in a ‘Father Time’ mask but doesn’t fully utilise them, with some plodding kill sequences.
The film also could be set around any time of year and doesn’t really use the New Year timing to its advantage.
Genre mainstay Damian Maffei is the stand-out of the cast, but there are others such as Felissa Rose, in a blink and you’ll miss out cameo, who are just cashing cheques. Time’s Up really lacks heart.
A slasher in name only.
Time’s Up is now available from Dark Sky Films.

I tried.
