First trailer for Bram Stoker independent feature House of Ka released

Lonely Spectre Productions, Acorn Arts & Entertainment, and Hippogryph Films have debuted the official trailer for the upcoming horror/mystery feature film HOUSE OF KA, inspired by Bram Stoker’s “The Jewel of the Seven Stars”.

After her father contracts a supernatural illness, a young aristocrat named Margaret Trelawny and a gentleman lawyer unravel a deadly mystery to save her father’s life.

From the Webby-honored director/writer Josie Eli Herman (“The Call of the Void”) comes a mystery/horror feature film that thrusts audiences into a young woman’s increasingly twisted investigation into the supernatural. House of Ka is written by Webby-honored writer Michael Alan Herman (James Franco’s “The Mad Whale”) & Josie Eli Herman and inspired by the gothic novel “The Jewel of Seven Stars” by Bram Stoker.

The film stars Allison Megroet, Jeffrey Shawn Miller, Yesmeen Mikhail and is produced and filmed independently by Acorn Arts & Entertainment, Lonely Spectre Productions, and Hippogryph Films.

Director and co-writer Josie Eli Herman commented,

“There’s an extraordinary thing that happens when scrappy creatives join forces to tell a powerful story like House of Ka. So much innovation and love has gone into the making of this film, and we can’t wait to share the results of so much creative spirit.”

Co-writer Michael Alan Herman added,

House of Ka is in many ways a love letter to those classic Victorian penny dreadful stories. We have loved the lush haunt of historical horror our entire lives and we can’t wait to share our interpretation of that eerie, cerebral horror in this film.”

House of Ka is expected to be released in fall 2023.
