When the apocalypse comes you need to choose your friends wisely.
In Under a Burnt Orange Sky, the end of times is here and we follow the exploits of two women survivors as they navigate the new landscape.
While looking for scraps to survive on they stumble upon on another survivor, clad in a suit covering their entire body.
With no dialogue director Heston L’Abbe is able to flesh out this new world and some of the rules those who are still breathing need to abide by.
It does take a fantastical turn but given the themes it feels earnt and works quite well. Also, given its limited budget the CGi at work is quite impressive.
A neat post-apocalyptic short.
