New indie Japanese monster movie Bakemono has started a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
Bakemono features all practical FX and no CGI, inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing plus a tentacle-transforming creature!
The film tells the story of a gruesome creature waiting for unsuspecting victims in a cheap Tokyo rental apartment. What makes the story unique is the fact that it’s told out-of-order like Memento and Pulp Fiction.
Director Doug Roos said,
“I wanted to make something unpredictable and new that would hook audiences from the very beginning. Something extremely exciting that you can’t stop watching.”
