The premise of The Housesitters sees a pair of best friends look after a house in an affluent area.
What they didn’t bargain on was the house being potentially haunted.
The Housesitters shines because of the chemistry between leads Erin Pineda and Matt McConkey who provide plenty of laughs as they get more spooked by happenings in the house.
The film also comments on the #MeToo movement, mansplaining and manages to flip from campy to sinister quite casually and could catch some viewers off guard.
The Housesitters screens as part of Sohome Horror Fest Pride 2023.
