Night of the Killer Bears review

Billed as Ted meets Terrifier, Thai slasher Night of the Killer Bears knows exactly what it is from the outset.

Those expecting profound social commentary and deeper meaning will need to find something else, as this is a big, dumb and very fun slasher.

A group of five friends arrive at a remote resort and begin getting hunted down by a killer wearing a giant teddy bear outfit; see what I mean – not one for the psychologists.

What Killer Bears may lack in intellect it more than makes up for in the gore stakes. We’ve got decapitations and people getting split in two just for starters.

The film is also very funny in parts, with some of the group trying to play off the severity of the situation; including one sequence where one of the teens is in danger but refuses to remove the joint from his mouth.

Night of the Killer Bears feels like a throwback to the golden age of the slasher, and if you temper your expectations you will certainly have plenty of fun with it.
