The flipside of this is, the effect on people investigating said disappearance, and while this is their job it’s still not an easy task to take on.
In Isaac Ruth’s short Searchers, we delve into this dynamic as a female investigator is assigned a missing child case in Salton Sea, California
The beautiful, yet desolate location make for a stunning background for this dark tale.
Ruth’s vision is told completely straight-faced making this quite a raw and vivid watch, as the two women talk about the disappearance. While there is talk of supernatural happenings, the vividness of their description makes them quite believable.
Searchers hints at a larger plot, and gives us just enough nuggets to be left wanting more.
As this is a proof of concept short, we may yet get to explore this world more.
