Buzzkill (Panic Fest 2023) review

Ah young love!

We open on a stormy night and Rick and his partner Becky have hit it off and are looking to take things to the next level, but every time they go to kiss something stops them.

Things start to get overtly mushy, and you kind of expect something dark and bizarre to happen; as this is a horror short after all!

When Becky goes to the bathroom to remove an eyelash she gets a certain buggy surprise waiting for her.

Things descend in comical body horror as Becky tries to get ready for her big moment with Rick, whilst he is completely oblivious to the chaos in the next room for the most part.

Extremely fun and gooey, Buzzkill also has a fantastic synth soundtrack plus a closing number from Blondie; what’s not to like?

Buzzkill screens as part of Panic Fest 2023.
