Villain (short review)

You know things are going to go off the deep end when the opening shot of a film is a character holding a gun to his own head.

We follow a couple who appeared to be grieving the loss of their child, although we don’t know the context of their death or disappearance.

Is this a tale of vengeance or grief or both; how does a parent reconcile losing a child?

Husband Jonathan also keeps disappearing at night and has trouble remembering things, which is surely causing concern in any household, never mind a broken one.

David Borges’ short, which is looking to be adapted into a feature has a really visceral undercurrent and it feels like we are exploring an extremely dark side of the human psyche.

There is a swing in the narrative that not everyone will get on-board, but on the whole, this is a well-shot and twisted short film that does have potential if the feature can get made.
