Following a fantastic response from the horror and genre communities, we are delighted to announce the winners of the Bloody Flicks Awards 2023.
Our physical event took place on 25 February 2023, hosting 18 short films from all over the world plus a trailer showcase and the UK indie horror feature Mask of the Devil.
The winners of commemorative certificates are as follows –
Best Film – Everyone Forgot – Dir. Theo Kai Marlow
Best Foreign Film – The Newcomer – Dir. Ivan Villamel
Best Director – Joshua Cleave (The Rage Part II)
Best Actor/Actress – Anne Wil-Blankers (Red Wash)
Best Music – Bushwhacker Blues
Bloody Flicks Awards festival director Paul Downey commented,
“It was a tough decision to decide the winners of this year’s awards. We had plenty to consider from on the day voting but with the help of my independent judging panel I feel we made some excellent choices.
“I would like to once again thank the horror and genre filmmakers who have continued to support the festival and help us host our first physical event in three years. Plans are already in motion for next year’s festival.”
Entries for the Bloody Flicks Awards 2024 have now re-opened, with an early bird deadline of 25 September 2023.
