Respected and renowned film executives Ian Dawson, Gaby Whyte-Hart and Ru Hollier have joined forces to produce the elevated horror feature THE CAGED, written, and to be directed, by award-winning Jeffrey Scott Collins (POOR GREG DROWNING).
A family moves into their new home, a quaint cottage in Essex, England. Before long, they realise that the old house contains a dark presence as they find themselves repeatedly terrorised.
Uncovering the ancient history of the residence, they discover its previous life as the site of a medieval prison set aside for those accused of witchcraft, including England’s most notorious witch, hanged in 1582. How will the family escape the curse of what was once, and may still be, there?
The film will shoot in Q4 2023 and be produced by Dawson, Whyte-Hart and Hollier under their respective Sparky Pictures, Filmtrax and Fearless Features banners. THE CAGED is planned as the first of a number of genre films in development from the trio.
Collins’ debut feature, POOR GREG DROWNING screened at 26 Festivals in 2020 accumulating 13 awards including Best Picture, Best Comedy and Best Director.
THE CAGED is written by Collins and inspired by true events.
