
The multi-award-winning independent horror feature Mask of the Devil has been selected as the main feature for the upcoming Bloody Flicks Awards 2023, which takes place on Saturday 25 February at The Boiler Works, Stoke-on-Trent.
Co-written and directed by Richard Rowntree, Mask of the Devil tells the story of a feisty young woman who, after accepting a job at a low-rent pornographers, is pitted in a fight for survival against an ancient evil that is hellbent on absolute bloody carnage.
When speaking to Bloody Flicks, Richard described the film as,
“BOOGIE NIGHTS meets FRIDAY 13th – which, now we have picture locked, is a pretty fair representation!”
Paul Downey, Festival Director at the Bloody Flicks Awards commented,
“We’re delighted to be screening the fantastic Mask of the Devil, at the returning physical festival next month in Stoke-on-Trent.
“Mask of the Devil is a real showcase of independent talent within the UK horror scene and will play well with our festival audience.”
The Bloody Flicks Awards returns as a physical festival after going on hiatus in 2022, and screening virtually in 2021 due to COVID-19.
Mask of the Devil will be the feature presentation, of a full day of horror from all over the globe including an array of diverse short films (which will be announced soon) plus a trailer showcase of upcoming attractions.
