It’s Me Billy Chapter 2 set for production in 2023

It’s Me, Billy (the Black Christmas fan film dubbed the unofficial sequel to the original 1974 classic) is well into development with a follow-up.

Trapped and alone, but with renewed hope, Sam and her grandmother Jess Bradford must now work together and fight back against the clutches of Christmas evil.

Praised for its high production value, and released for free on YouTube and Vimeo in 2021, It’s Me, Billy raised nearly $50K USD through Indiegogo in the summer of 2020, and was nominated for Best Cinematography in the Dramatic Short category at the 65th Annual CSC (Canadian Society of Cinematographers) Awards in 2022.

It’s Me, Billy gave Black Christmas fans who were disappointed with the two remakes, a “what-if” scenario by jumping nearly 50 years after the events of the first film and continuing the story.

It’s Me, Billy Chapter 2 will pick up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Chapter 1, reuniting Sam with her grandmother Jess Bradford. The film will bring the two part tribute series to a close, completing an unofficial Black Christmas trilogy.

It’s Me, Billy Chapter 2 is once again being written, produced, and directed by filmmaking duo Dave McRae and Bruce Dale. An Indiegogo campaign is expected to launch in the spring with a production start towards the end of 2023. Victoria Mero will return to the role of Sam, the granddaughter of Jess Bradford. Caro Coltman will return as Agnes, and Bryan Charles Peter will return to the role of Billy with Dave McRae doing much of the voice work. More casting news to come.
