Destiny Soria talks horror comedy Christmas Slasher

What happens when one of Santa’s trusted reindeer goes on a killing spree?

This is part of the premise of Destiny Soria’s Christmas Slasher, and we caught up with the prolific filmmaker to find out more.

You are currently in post-production on Christmas Slasher, what was the filming experience like?

It had its ups and downs. Had problems with unprofessional individuals on my set and now working legal cases against them. But all in all it was a learning experience and out of that it was really amazing and fun. I was going to stop filming after they did and said things about me. I didn’t give up and won’t give up on my goals and dreams of filming. It was my first time making a feature film and I have learn that there is some evil in the world that would do anything to not let you achieve. I was naive to think they are good people in the world. So now I bring on board and hire casting directors and only talents that are in agencies and that’s why it was on hold for a while until I got a legal team.

You’ve got an impressive cast too, who was the most fun to work with?

Nicholas Brendon, He is a sweet sweet person.

What can you tell us about our murderous zombie reindeer?

He is one of Santa’s reindeer and Slasher the Killer reindeer, there are a lot of plot twists in this film and can’t say much or it won’t be fun and surprise the audience

I’m guessing we can expect plenty of gore?

Yes to the beginning and end! crazy death scenes and lots of blood.
Christmas horror is such an inversion of this joyful and happy time of year for many, was that part of the fun?Yes, I love christmas and wanted to make something of a paraody of the holidays characters and make new monster for this holiday. I lovd the 80s horror genre like Killer Klown from outer space and the funny plot with the clay animation. My film will have monster clay animation in it too!

How does this compare to your previous work?

I do a lot of skits, especially horror and dark skits. I have done a lot of short horror films and wanted to move up the ladder with feature films at my film production, Lady Destiny Productions LLC and show the world that this autistic native female can do anything in my heart and mind, what I’m passionate about and love.

You also have a stack of films in the pipeline, which of your other projects are you most excited about?

No Promised Land is drama and I’m really excited to show the world this heartwarming drama
I got to have two major horror films I’ll be directing and writing for next winter back to back films!
