Ringworms (Soho Horror Film Festival) review

Taking the leap from a relationship to marriage can be daunting for some couples, and can lead to flaws being exposed and the whole concept being questioned.

In Ringworms, we follow a young girl who is having doubts about her long-term future with her partner following a proposal; now throw in a death cult and you’ve got a recipe for quite the short.

The film is beautifully shot, constructing some nightmarish images and playing with larger themes.

Ringworms also work in some gnarly body horror, with some excellent practical effects that will make some wince. Its pays homage to films such as Evil Dead 2 plus the better possession movies of recent years.

A gory delight.

Ringworms screens as part of Soho Horror Film Festival 2022.
