Feed Me (Grimmfest 2022) review

When a young husband loses his wife to suicide he falls into a pit of despair which leads him to the mysterious Lionel who has a proposition for him.

While Jed believes this is assisted suicide, it becomes something wholly more twisted and chewy, as Lionel shows his teeth and his hacksaw.

To say there is gore galore in Feed Me would be an understatement. Couple this with some pure insanity and griminess and you get a feel for what’s in store.

In terms of performances, you are unlikely to see one as unhinged as Neal Ward’s Lionel in some time, with his questionable haircut, OTT southern accent and obsession with his mother, this is quite the turn.

While Feed Me can be chalked up to dark comedy in some parts it has a real vicious streak that could catch you off guard. It flits from comical situation like a day out by the lake to hacking limbs off, scene to scene.

The message of Feed Me is about dealing with loss, but in this case not making drastic decisions you can’t take back.

Don’t have a full meal before Feed Me or it could be regurgitated pretty soon after.

Feed Me plays as part of Grimmfest 2022.
