Pussycake opens with a wild cross-dimensional experiment that will have you wondering what you’ve walked into.
We quickly transition to the touring titular band Pussycake, who stumble upon this virus which threatens not just them, but the existence of mankind.
If you were expecting a tame, gore-free ride with this film, think again – Pussycake is bloody soaked. Having said this, it is also about the close bond these girls share, and when some are put in mortal danger you genuinely feel for their plight.
The tone is so bonkers, with callbacks to films such as Predator and Ghoulies, but all coated in a rock n roll spirit.
Pussycake is a blood-soaked sci fi horror that chooses spectacle over plot, but when the ride is this enjoyable who cares?
Pussycake screens as part of Grimmfest 2022.
