Holy Sh*t (Grimmfest 2022) review

You may feel like the premise of a man trapped in a portaloo would have limited appeal – well think again.

In aptly titled Holy Shit, an architect wakes up in a portaloo, only to find himself trapped with a metal rod through one of his joints.

The film plays in a similar manner to previous Grimmfest favourite Why Dont You Just Die?, being as much an escapist horror plus being off-the-wall insane.

Given its setting, it is also not for the squeamish, with plenty of blood plus other bodily fluids, if you catch my drift.

Holy Shit is very clever too, building up a much wider plot around a deranged property developer, who wants to build on some land and will wipe out anyone who gets in his way. This is where the film veers off into a camp comedy route with some eye-bulging, over-the-top scenes that are truly astounding.

Ultimately, Holy Shit is a quirky tale of survival, by any means which is thoroughly entertaining and bizarre all in equal measure.

Holy Shit plays as part of Grimmfest 2022.
