Everyone Forgot review

There can be no worse feeling than everyone forgetting your birthday.

But how far would you go to get some attention? That is the premise of Theo Marlow’s short Everyone Forgot; which screened recently at Arrow Video Frightfest 2022.

Lily, who is turning 40, is searching for some recognition on her special day; that even her own mother forgot.

She can’t even get her lighter to work, so in her desperation hires a handyman to come around.

There is also a tinge of sadness to proceedings, with the short really tapping into the loneliness of getting older, as friends and relatives start to drift apart.

Everyone Forgot is sprinkled with dark humour plus an excellent off-kilter performance from Anwen Bull as Lily. The pacing is excellent and the story starts to unravel and only gets darker and darker but does not forget a few laughs.

Definitely one to keep an eye out for on the festival circuit.
