Blue Finch Film Releasing presents the UK Premieres of Next Exit and Swallowed at FrightFest

From debut director Mali Elfman, Next Exit is a modern ghost story laced with science-fiction and black comedy, starring Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), Katie Parker (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and Karen Gillan (Avengers franchise).

Next Exit follows a research scientist who makes headlines proving she can track people after death, and her radical scientific study is looking for volunteers for a pain-free passing to the afterlife. Rose sees a way out and Teddy sees his chance to finally make it. When fate has the two strangers sharing a car rental, they set out on a lengthy road trip to the unknown. As these two misfits quarrel their way across the country, their friction gradually gives way to a deep connection that they’ve both needed.

From the director of The Ruins, Swallowed is a queer horror nightmare about drugs, bugs and the extremes we are willing to endure to protect the ones we love.

Benjamin and Dom have been best friends since they were kids – and Benjamin has been in love with Dom for almost that long. But Benjamin is heading to sunny Los Angeles for a blazing bright future in gay porn. Fearing the worst for his friend in the cutthroat world of the porn industry, Dom concocts a plan to make Benjamin some quick cash. All they have to do is a quick drugs run across the border.

But all is not what it seems, as the bags of drugs they swallow for their smuggling trip turn out to be something far more deadly and disturbing than they ever could have imagined.

Starring Jena Malone (The Ruins, Antebellum), Cooper Koch (They/Them), Jose Colon and Mark Patton (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge), Swallowed is directed by Carter Smith (The Ruins) and has played at Fantasia Film Festival and The Overlook Film Festival.
