The Don Mancini produced Chucky TV series has found its home, with SyFy today announced an 8 episode first season.
Nick Antosca, producer of the recently cancelled Channel Zero is on board too as Executive Producer alongside long term franchise stalwart David Kirschner.
Brad Dourif will once again reprise his role as Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky, in a story that will keep to the story of the seven film series and not be linked to the upcoming Child’s Play remake.
Mancini stated in a press release,
“I’ve long wanted to bring Chucky to television and Syfy is the perfect network for us.
“The show will be a fresh take on the franchise, allowing us to explore Chucky’s character with a depth that is uniquely afforded by the television series format, while staying true to the original vision that has terrorized audiences for over three decades now.”
Chucky was last seen finally getting into human form in the finale of Cult of Chucky and escaping with Jennifer Tilly’s Tiffany, leaving the possibilities for new sequels and the series wide open.
