Blumhouse presents Friday the 13th?

With filming now underway for Blumhouse’s next chapter in the Halloween franchise, it seems Jason Voorhees is well in their sights next.

Blumhouse President Jason Blum, when quizzed what his plans are post-Halloween 2018, he stated,

“You know, I really wanted to do a Friday the 13th, I would love to do that movie. Maybe someday we’ll get to do that one.”

Jason hasn’t been seen on screen since Platinum Dunes’ convoluted 2009 remake, which although made decent money at the box office didn’t revive the franchise in the way the studio hoped.

The rights to the series have since reverted back to original owners Paramount, with a Brock Eisner directed second reboot set to start filming last year before the studio pulled the plug due to Rings bombing just a few weeks prior.

What do you think about a Blumhouse produced Friday the 13th remake? Let us know in the comments section.
